We offer daily guided fishing trips in the High Country of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
We feature special guided fishing trips to Alaska in the summer too. We offer our fly fishing
services and trips to all skill levels and encourage new avenues of angling. Our guided float
fishing trips are on the Watauga river and South Holston Tailwater Rivers, and wade fishing trips in

Captain David Stelling has lived in the Boone area since 2001. He graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Recreation Management and since fished and guided in a variety of locales but is proud to call Boone home. He has guided locally since 2005 and has been floating the Kanektok since 2006 and took over as Head Guide in 2017. He is a licensed OUPV Charter boat captain in SE Alaska and carries that professionalism with him wherever his guiding takes him. David taught himself how to fish and encourages anglers to find their own path and truly become a more competent angler.

Skye grew up in Watauga County and enjoys sharing this special area with everyone. He is a streamer specialist with experience pursuing multiple species on both the South Holston and Watauga Tailwater Rivers. With multiple years guiding in Alaska under his belt and a plethora of local knowledge to pull from Skye is sure to produce!

Alyssa joined the crew in 2018 with experience fishing and guiding in the High Country. A self taught Angler and Tyer from the Asheville area, Alyssa came to Boone as a student, was once the President of the Appalachian State Fly Fishing Club and recently graduated in 2019. Lyss loves to share the overall excitement and education that a guided trip affords to guests of all skill levels.

Nate Dogg
Nate came to us from Appalachian State University and is our video and media specialist. Nate is well rounded in our local streams and can make trips happen for all skill levels. Wild trout fishing in small creeks is Nate's specialty - if you're looking for a wilderness wade Nate is your leader!
Kole came on board working in the shop and quickly adapted to the wade fishing programs. He is tireless in his pursuit of a professional trip and excels with family groups. As a recent graduate of Appalachian State University Kole is also among the ranks of our proud Alum network. Nate and Kole make an incredible wade fishing duo embracing each and every technique and watershed to show their guests the best trip possible.
Kirby's knowledge and approach to the wade program sets him apart from other guides. Kirby heads up our "Tie and Try" Clinic teaching first timers to tie a fly and use it on your trip! Longtime resident of the High Country and known sauna connoisseur - sneak in to some fun scenarios with our headiest guide.
Ben has been fishing and guiding in the High Country for many years and knows all of the nooks and crannies of our wade fishing program. Ben works for Lees McRae as a professor of biology and shares his passion for wilderness and our natural surroundings every day with his clients.

Worry-free fishing and camping await as you pack your bags for a camping trip, leaving them with us to handle the gear logistics. We hike in your equipment, alongside our own, allowing you to explore and fish your way to a luxurious permitted campsite.
The $700 cost per participant covers a full day of guided fly fishing with all necessary gear, including lunch, overnight accommodations with dinner, beverages, dessert, and breakfast the following morning. This unique experience accommodates a maximum of six participants
Our full day local wade trip also takes place on wild and hatchery supported trout streams; however, this trip allows the guide to take you to places that could not be reached with the time allowed on a half day trip. You will also be able to fish an assortment of great locations if the conditions allow. We will leave the shop around 9:00 am and will return about 5:30 pm. Lunch is provided on this trip, along with all the fishing tackle and equipment you will need on your adventure. Fishing license not included.

All dates are for 6 guests maximum. Our permit only allows 6 people per trip, and the start date listed is the day guests fly to the put-in and begin their trip for 7 days and 6 nights. We provide the bush flights to the put in as well as the flights back to Bethel from the take out. The trip cost covers these flights and the guided fishing but does not provide commercial flights to and from Bethel, AK. Guests are required to have a valid Alaska sport fishing license, and gratuity for the guides is typically at 10-15% of total trip cost.
